DANDENONG RANGES ENERGY HUB (DREH) We can't all have solar but we can: i) buy Green Power, ii) offset our emissions, and iii) work together for a resilient electricity system. But how? You can: Buy your power from Indigo Power Join the Dandenong Ranges Energy Hub Want more info? What is Indigo, DREH? FAQ Email Peter Cook with EOI in DREH in subject line and we'll get in contact
Who are we?
DRREA (Dandenong Ranges Renewable Energy Association) is a not for profit, not politically aligned community group. It was formed in September 2007.
Public meetings were held in Upwey and Emerald (Victoria) to gauge interest in an Association to promote renewable energy.
Membership quickly grew. Emerald Primary School was keen to have a solar power system, to add to their extensive program in sustainability. So the Association and the School began working together to achieve this, as the first project of the Association. As a result, a 2.9 kilowatt, grid interactive, solar power system was installed on the School roof in February 2008. The local community contributed generously. This was added to in 2009.
For other projects completed, or under way, see Projects.

This interactive map shows the community and commercial buildings with solar PV, many of which were facilitated by DRREA. Some figures are estimates.
